Well here it is wine fans… the first “teaser” introductory episode.. Drop me a line, let me know if you have any Napa Cabs you think we’d all like.
I’m playing catch up…haven’t tuned in for about a week. What did I go right to, not the sports posts, but the wine posts. All I can think is what have I done….what did i create? You’re decanting a 2005 wine for 7 hours, talking about the proper glasses to drink out of and now you’re going to rate wine for your viewers? WOW. So do you like wine yet, Mr. I like to invest in hobbies that I’m not even sure I’m going to like? Ok…that was mean. Sorry.
By the way, I’m watching your posts from my new MacBook demo. I love it.
If you can get your hands on it, try something from Justin Vineyards. Good stuff.

Maybe you can start lobbying the New Brunswick gov’t to bring in more wine from Napa (very little so far, and most in the $40 – $80 range) seeing as how you’re gonna end up back here once Obama repeals NAFTA and you get kicked out
Dude, 7 hours? Are you nuts? I’ll have to find this again but I remember reading or seeing somewhere that after 1 hour of decanting a red it starts to go down hill from there. Also, the younger the wine the more vigorously you are going to want to pour it into the decanter.
Andrew,
GaryV, an expert in the field of wine, often recommends multi-hour decantings for younger wines. Also, on one of his episodes he let a wine decant for 2 full days.
Nuts, like I said, I heard after 1 hour it goes downhill *shrug. Not much of a science I guess, although I guess they could be decanting for diff reasons (clarifying vs taste vs smell)
WOW Matt an $8 bottle of wine, I didnt think that was your style. I will have to try that GSM…….Lucky throw.LOL
You’re right, typically not my style… But, when GaryV sends it to me, I drink it… No questions asked…. And if you need a bottle or two delivered to you, just let me know and we’ll get ‘er done
Try the 2005 Cakebread Cab. The 2006 Schug Cab and the Hook and ladder tillerman – which is a cab mix. ALL excellent the last two are relatively cheap. Cakebread is not. But its excellent
Thanks Michelle, I will definitely look all three of them up.. Already found the cakebread at wine.com; I’ll pick up a bottle (for a special occasion
)
